PETERBOROUGH captain Ulrich Ostergaard has declared himself happy with the start to the SGB Championship season - on both personal and team levels.
The 'T Balfe Construction' Panthers skipper has impressed during back-to-back victories against Scunthorpe in recent days.
Peterborough sank the Scorpions 51-42 in their first competitive outing on March 24 and followed up with a 46-44 triumph on the road last Sunday.
Ostergaard, who clinched both victories with winning rides in heat 14, said: "It's brilliant to start the season with a couple of wins.
"I know Scunthorpe are not being talked about as one of the favourites for the title, but their team is built in a similar way to ours so it was important to be able to beat them home and away.
"It's good for confidence to get results early in the season and I'm pleased to be scoring well.
"It was really important to start the new season in a good way after having a pretty poor final couple of months in 2016."
Ostergaard has been a busy man of late after appearing in three individual meetings in as many days last week.
He reckons the additional track-time has come in really useful in the early stages of the campaign.
"I'm very lucky in that I've been invited to do a few individual meetings in the last few days," added the Dane.
"It went really well at Redcar last Thursday. I like the track there, even though it was a bit rough, and finishing second was pleasing.
"I had a bit of a stinker at Edinburgh the next night, but I really enjoyed racing at the National Speedway Stadium on Saturday.
"That is a great place and it was good to be out there fighting with some of the big boys.
"Riding in those meetings really helps you to get dialed in at the start of a season. I know some of the other guys wish they had a bit more time on the bike too."
