BAD BREAKS FOR ANDERS
Sunday September 18, 2020
PETERBOROUGH star Anders Thomsen has seen his season brought to a painful end.
The Danish racer suffered two broken wrists in a high-speed crash while riding in the final round of the Speedway Euro Championship (SEC) yesterday.
He clipped the machine of Czech rider Vaclav Milik in his opening ride at Rybnik, in Poland, before both riders hit the deck.
Thomsen was immediately taken to hospital where x-rays revealed the full extent of his injuries. He also suffered a sprained ankle and concussion.
Thomsen is due to be allowed to return to his native Denmark later today where he is expected to require surgery on at least one of the breaks.
He finished 14th in the final SEC standings after his debut appearance in the series.
