PETERBOROUGH are set to face an East of England Showground judgement day in the race for a Premier League play-off place.

The 'T Balfe Construction' Panthers will stage their final two home fixtures of the regular season on one huge afternoon of action.

Peterborough entertain Rye House (2.30pm) and Workington (5pm) in a double-header on Sunday, September 4.

"Our whole season, and whether or not we make the play-offs, could come down to those two meetings," said promoter Ged Rathbone.

"We've had to stage a double-header to ensure we get all our fixtures in before the cut-off date and I'm sure our fans will turn out in force.

"It has the makings of a memorable day with 30 heats of cracking Premier League racing and we're working on pricing it as attractively as we possibly can.

"Further details will be released later this week once we have settled on figures."

Peterborough climbed back into third place in the Premier League standings courtesy of their terrific 50-40 triumph at Berwick on Saturday night.

They now have six meetings remaining in the regular season with the top six finishers in the table advancing to the play-offs.
