BERWICK V PANTHERS, PREVIEW

Saturday August 13, 2020
PETERBOROUGH are out to give their fine away record another boost tonight.

The ‘T Balfe Construction’ Panthers travel to Berwick (7.30pm) in the knowledge that victory will go a long way towards securing a Premier League play-off spot.

And team boss Carl Johnson has set his sights on success at the big Shielfield Park track for the third successive season.

He said: “We’ve won four times and picked up exactly half of our 30 league points on the road so far this season.

“That is a terrific record and one which would probably have already secured us a play-off spot had we not lost three times at home.

“Tonight is a big night and I believe a good result is possible at Berwick. We've had success there in the past and that is the aim again.

“It is a track which will suit a lot of our guys and hopefully this can be the start of a final push during the rest of the regular season.”

Peterborough sit fifth in the Premier League standings, but climb into third spot with victory tonight.

They go into battle with a five-point cushion over a Berwick side who sit immediately outside the play-off zone. Panthers also have three meetings in hand on the Bandits.

Peterborough welcome back Danish rider Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen tonight. He had been due to miss the trip to Edinburgh last night, which was postponed, due to a fixture in his homeland.

Busk Jakobsen now operates in the number four berth following another re-jig of the Peterborough riding order.

Captain Ulrich Ostergaard moves to five with Tom Perry taking over at three and Emil Grondal at two.
