PETERBOROUGH have called on Czech ace Matej Kus to lead their bid to wreck the perfect record of Premier League leaders Somerset.

The Newcastle man will step in as a guest when the 'T Balfe Construction' Panthers travel to the Oaktree Arena on Friday night (7.30pm).

Regular number one Craig Cook misses the trip to the South-West due to an Elite League fixture clash, but that won't stop Peterborough aiming to continue their improved away form.

They picked up four points in as many days last week when triumphing at Sheffield and going down narrowly at Workington.

And now they're out to claim another good result against a Rebels side who have won all 11 league meetings to date to sweep to the top of the standings.

Peterborough promoter Ged Rathbone said: "Four points in four days was a very pleasing return from the meetings at Sheffield and Workington.

"From reading social media and internet forums, it was clear that very few people gave us a chance of getting a result at either track.

"We'll be big underdogs again at Somerset, but our poor record against them has to improve some time.

"We'll treat this meeting the same as any other on the road. A point will be the target and anything more will be a bonus.

"Being without Craig makes the task even tougher, but Matej is a very accomplished rider and goes well round Somerset.

"He scored 10 points for his own club, Newcastle, there last month and won three races in the process."

The trip to Somerset is swiftly followed by a home clash against reigning champions Edinburgh on Sunday (5pm) when Cook returns to face his former club.
