PETERBOROUGH have completed their squad for the new Premier League season by snapping up a local lad.
Tom Stokes will act as the T Balfe Construction Panthers' number eight for 2016.
It means he could follow in the footsteps of father John, who represented the club in the 1980s, by racing for Peterborough.
Stokes is well-known to joint team boss Dale Allitt after excelling for his King's Lynn Young Stars side at National League level during the past two campaigns.
Allitt said: “Tom is a rider with huge determination and a big heart, who wants to progress.
“He commanded the number one spot in the Young Stars last season despite still only being 21.
“Being involved in a Premier League set-up is the logical next step for him and it will also give us options in the future.
“It is going to benefit both parties going forward and continues the excellent relationship between two local clubs.”
