PETERBOROUGH promoter Ged Rathbone hopes to aid the development of bright British talent over the next two days.

The T Balfe Construction Panthers supremo has travelled to Macon in France for the first-ever Young Lions pre-season training camp.

A total of 25 youth and Under 21 riders are making the trip to the Macon track for practice tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday.

Rathbone is accompanying club asset Danny Phillips, who will race for Premier League rivals Newcastle this year, and is keen to assist other young riders.

He said: "It will be terrific to see the next generation of speedway riders developing.

"I'll be in France primarily to work with Danny, but will gladly help any rider in any way I can.

"I'm a big supporter of British talent and it has been a pleasure to stage the Youth Championships at the East of England Showground in the last two years.

"I've had confirmation that event will be back again in 2016."
