PROMOTER Ged Rathbone was named the Peterborough Telegraph Sports Personality of the Year for 2015 tonight.

The Panthers chief was rewarded for his tireless work in ensuring the club raced on last winter with the prestigious accolade.

Rathbone collected the gong at the Sports Awards bash held at the Cresset in the city.

He beat off competition from Phantoms ice hockey star Janis Auzins and top bowls player Nicky Brett.
