PANTHERS IN HOSPITAL

Sunday March 20, 2021
PETERBOROUGH riders and bosses spread some cheer on the eve of the new speedway season.

The full T Balfe Construction Panthers team and members of the club management recently dropped into the Amazon Ward at Peterborough City Hospital.

They handed out presents and Easter eggs, donated by the Peterborough Panthers Speedway Supporters’ Club (PPSSC), to young patients.

Panthers also hope to welcome Amazon Ward staff and patients to meetings at the East of England Showground during the 2016 season.

Promoter Ged Rathbone said: “We are very keen to do more work in the community and this was part of it.

“Every rider was in attendance and it was a very humbling experience to be able to give a little bit of cheer to those unfortunate enough to be in hospital.

"And we've given the staff at the Amazon Ward an open invitation to bring along any patients, who are well enough for a trip out of hospital, to watch us race."
