MAX IS NEW MASCOT

Thursday April 12, 2018
PETERBOROUGH are delighted to welcome 10-year-old Max Perry as the club’s new official mascot.

Max will take to the track prior to home meetings this season and will also be involved in the Thundercats team competing in the Northern Junior League.

Max is based in Berkshire and has been riding since the age of six. He already has an impressive CV having become British Youth Auto Cadet Grasstrack Champion in 2014 and 2015, as well as Junior British Grasstrack Champion last year.

Max also has plenty of speedway experience at 125cc level with second halves at various southern tracks, and 2018 will be his third year racing in the British Youth Championship.

The format for the Northern Junior League allows for 125cc riders to be named in the same team as 500cc riders, and whilst the two categories do not race against each other, the points from both count towards the final score.

Max will line up in Sunday’s match against the Redcar Cubs alongside fellow 125cc rider Jack Bell, with Dan Gilkes and Ben Rathbone in the 500cc category.

Panthers are also pleased to confirm they will still be working with previous mascot Mickie Simpson this year.

Mickie will be turning 14 next month which means he can advance to ride 500cc machinery and he will be involved in various Youth demonstration races in that category at the East of England Arena this season.
