After becoming aware of increasing speculation within the sport, Peterborough owner Ged Rathbone feels he must confirm his British Speedway Promoters' Association licence has been suspended.

It means the 'T Balfe Construction' Panthers' promotional duties are currently in the hands of Trevor Swales.

However, as club owner, Rathbone wishes to apologise for the unacceptable fiasco that the club's fans witnessed at the East of England Arena last night.

He feels it is only right to compensate any supporters left disappointed by the abandonment of the meeting against Newcastle with the goodwill gesture of £5 off entry to any other Peterborough home meeting this year.

The club will make no further comment at this time.
