PETERBOROUGH step up their challenge for SGB Championship KO Cup honours at Scunthorpe today.

Recent signing Chris Harris makes his 'T Balfe Construction' Panthers debut in a quarter-final, first leg trip to the Eddie Wright Raceway (5.30pm).

And team boss Carl Johnson is looking for his men to take control of the tie with an impressive away performance.

Johnson said: "We'll be going to Scunthorpe with the aim of picking up the best result we possibly can.

"A win would be fantastic, but the main thing is to ensure we keep things as tight as we possibly can ahead of the second leg at home.

"We're determined to challenge for silverware this season and the KO Cup is an opportunity to do that.

"We've had a tough time of things lately and hopefully we can start turning the corner today."

Peterborough are without Jack Holder today after he represented Australia in a World Under 21 Team Cup semi-final yesterday.

Holder racked up 10 points to help the men from Down Under triumph at Pocking against Great Britain and two teams from host nation, Germany.

They will use the rider replacement facility to cover his absence and have drafted in Ipswich man Kyle Newman as a guest for Bradley Wilson-Dean.

The Kiwi ace is on his way to Germany for a World Championship qualifier tomorrow.

Scunthorpe also make two changes to their side with Josh Auty and Josh Bailey both having quit the sport in recent days.

The Scorpions operate rider replacement for Auty and have called in Nathan Greaves to guest at reserve.

The second leg of the KO Cup tie is at the East of England Arena on June 16.
