PETERBOROUGH hope to enjoy the perfect start to hectic spell of fixtures which are set to shape their SGB Championship season.

The 'T Balfe Construction' Panthers entertain table-toppers Edinburgh tomorrow (Sunday, 7pm) at the East of England Arena in the first of eight May outings.

And team boss Carl Johnson is keen to ensure Peterborough extend their unbeaten home run to four meetings in 2017 by seeing off the Monarchs.

He said: "We're heading into a crucial spell in our season and by the end of this month we'll certainly know whether we are play-off contenders.

"We've got a busy run which features four home and four away meetings, and the aim is to get off to the best possible start against Edinburgh.

"We've been out of action for more than a fortnight and we certainly can't afford to be caught cold.

"We know Edinburgh aren't at full-strength, but it doesn't mean we can take them lightly. It is essential we have the right mindset and keep our winning run going at home."

Peterborough are able to track their full one-to-seven tomorrow as they welcome Danish racer Kenneth Hansen back into action following a four-meeting absence.

He slots back into the number five berth with skipper Ulrich Ostergaard resuming his partnership with Paul Starke in the middle order.

High-scoring star Bradley Wilson-Dean continues at reserve with Peterborough not yet having completed the necessary four home and four away league fixtures for new averages to come into effect.

Panthers' task tomorrow looks to have been made slightly easier tomorrow due to Edinburgh being without high-scoring German siblings Erik and Mark Riss.

The former is racing in his homeland while the latter is in involved a GP qualifier in Slovakia this evening.

Edinburgh are only entitled to draft in a National guest for Erik Riss and Ben Morley will slot into the main body of their side. Danny Ayres steps in for Mark Riss at reserve.

Australian newcomer Josh Pickering is expected to ride through the pain of two broken fingers.

* The main meeting is followed by a Midland Development League contest between Peterborough Thundercats and Milton Keynes.
