PETERBOROUGH rider Simon Lambert came up short in his attempt to reach the final of the British Championship on Thursday night.

The 'T Balfe Construction' Panthers man scored five points from as many rides in the second semi-final at Sheffield.

That wasn't enough to earn a top-eight spot and a place in the national showpiece for the first time.

Peterborough will still be represented at the National Speedway Stadium on Monday, June 19 after Paul Starke advanced from the first semi at Newcastle last Sunday.
